knife #8 FOR SALE

UPDATE!! FOR SALE ONLY 300.00 INCLUDES LINED DISPLAY BOX AND CERT OF AUTHENTICITY.

WOW! this is one great knife! not for the faint of heart. this knife is a whopping 11.5" overall length with a 6.75" blade. It has a high carbon steel file blade, softened in a charcoal fire to 1600 degrees in my forge and worked and ground with a "v" or "straight" blade grind for incredible blade strength. The blade was then double-hardened in the forge using a wood charcoal fire, and quenched in synthetic motor oil. It was then deferentially tempered twice in the forge and cooled in dry ice for an incredible strength and flexibility. The ground portion of the blade was mirror-finished while the unground portion was left in the file format, including the spine. the bolsters are solid stock brass with 5 pins in the guard and 2 pins in the bolster. The 3 Mosaic pins are my custom mosaics-3 steel tie wire rods with 3 copper wires in a 5/16" brass tube filled with black-tinted epoxy. All the brass is mirror polished. 3/8" lanyard brass tube. I include a para cord lanyard with wood bead pull, which you can remove, replace at your pleasure. The handle scales are the incredible burl i discovered in my neighbors brush pile-a one in a million find! It is incredible in its fire, flames, colors-Ive never seen anything like it! it was stabilised for 3 weeks in wood hardener and given many coats of tung oil and danish oil rubbed in. The spacers are white fibre. The sheath is also one of a kind! stiff, to protect this treasure of a knife. DON'T RUB IN OIL-JUST POLISH WITH CORDOVAN SHOE WAX IF IT EVER NEEDS IT! The sheath is custom designed and stitched by me for this knife with a cut-out to show off the incredible handle and a high 45% stitched belt loop for a high right hand carry or high rear right hand carry. It is dyed and stamped to be as beautiful and unique as the knife. A 3/8" brass leg lanyard tube allows you to tie the sheath to your leg for better stability ( and matches knife lanyard).

This timeless beauty is correctly priced at $525.00

knife #3 FOR SALE

This is one of my earliest knives-my first hammered steel file knife! It is 8.75" long with a 5" blade. The blade is a forged and hand-hammered high-carbon steel filewith carbon added in a wood fired forge. It is convex ground to keep the characteristics of the forging process on the blade and to make it as strong as a blade can possibly be. Charcoal fire hardened and quenched in synthetic motor oil and double tempered in a charcoal fire for impressive strenth and razor edge. The blade was the filed all the way arpound except on the cutting edge with a vine pattern. The guards is solid brass stock mirror polished. The spacers are red fibre at the guard and sheet brass under the scales against the full tang. The mosiac pins asre my custom made 18 strand copper wire in a 5/16" brass tube filled with black-tinted epoxy. The scales are stabilised walnut with many coats of handrubbed tung oil and danish oil. The lanyard tube is a generous 3/8" brass tube. I include a parachute cord lanyard with wood bead pull, which you can remove or replace at your pleasure. knife #10 FOR SALE

(SOLD) Here is a unique knife for the serious collector. The overall length us 10" with a 5 " blade and 5" handle. The blade is a 1/4" thick Johnson bastard file softened at 1600 degrees in my forge, worked and ground with a straight or "V" grind on the blade ( I always use this grind on files to make a TOUGH blade!). It is then double hardened and oil-quenched and tempered twice for a strong and sharp blade. The blade is then polished on the grind area to a mirror finish and the file lines are left on the non-grind area (any seeing it KNOWS this was a file steel blade!).  The bolster is solid brass stck polished to a mirrior finish. The spacers are white blue white spacer material. The mosiac pin is my custom 3 steel tie-wire rods with 3 copper wires in a 5/16" tube of black-tinted epoxy. There are 9 brass pins in the handle, 4 thru the tang. The lanyard tube is 5/16 brass. I include a parachute cord lanyard with a wood bead pull, which you can remove or replace at your pleasure. The scales on this knife is reclaimed and repurposed 200 yr old heart of pine fron the floor of my 98 yr old florida cracker house. So it has aged for at least 100 yrs. I then stabilished it for 3 weks in wood hardner. IT IS HARD! The custom sheath is designed and hand-stitched and stamped by me for this knife. The belt loop is stitched at 45 % for a right hand high draw or right hand high back draw. knife #6 FOR SALE

This is agreat knife made from a Nicholson bastard file! ( I left the file stamp on both sides of the blade above the aluminum boster). The file was softened in a carbon fire to 1600 degrees in my forge the worked by hand and ground to a straight grind (for incredible strength). The grind area is mirror polished and the rest of the blade is left with the file lines at about 50 percent ht.It is sharpened but you can bring this knife to its razor edge potential! The bolster is solid aluminum with a brass pin thru the blade. The mosiac pin is my own custom 3 steel tie-wire rods with 3 copper wires in a 5/16" brass tube of black-tinted epoxy. There are 2 brass pins thru the handle and blade tang. The yanyard tube is 3/8" brass. as always i include a parachute cord lanyard pull with wood bead, which you can remove or replace at you pleasure. The wood handle is 200 yr old heart of pine repurposed  from the floor of my 1915 florida cracker house. IT IS HARD! It was hardened for 3 weeks in wood hardner and polished with multiple coats of tung oil and danish oil to a rocklike appearance. It looks more like tigerwood than pine but it is MUCH harder and more beautiful (not to mention unique!) Normal pine is too soft for a high-end knife but this woos is a new animal! Then there is the sheath: custom stiched and constructed for this knife by me ithas a low-slung belt loop and a leg tie to keep it secure from matching parachute cord. It is also dyed and totall stamped by hand for finished appearance. Number "6"is stamped on the handle near the lanyard tube and "TAYLOR" is stamped on the bolster.
